We love questions. If you want to know anything, feel free to email us at fantasyfandom.bb@gmail.com or reply to this post. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
I was wondering what makes it fantasy. Does the fandom itself have to be deep-rooted in a fantasy verse or just your plot? Are you allowing original fiction with a fantasy theme?
To answer your first question, the fandom itself needs to have some aspects of fantasy, but we're going to be very loose in our definition of fantasy. If you think it might count, it probably will. Second, original fiction will be allowed, but it will take a lot more work on your part. If you choose to write original fiction, you will be required to include full physical descriptions of your characters, as well as anything else your artist needs extra explanation on.
I have a similar question as the crossovers one - are fusions between a non-fantasy fandom and a fantasy fandom allowed, or AUs that make a non-fantasy fandom into fantasy?
As long as one of the fandoms is fantasy, you can do a crossover with whatever other fandoms you want. However, as much as we love Fantasy AU's, we have to draw the line somewhere, so the fandom must have some kind of basis in fantasy.
It's answered in the profile, but the minimum is 5,000 words. We'd love for you to write more, but we wanted it to be accessible to everyone who wanted to join.
Okay, I feel like the answer to this must be somewhere, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. For author rough drafts, is there a minimum word count we need to have finished? I've been struggling a little with my muse lately so I'm worried a bit about having enough done before Friday. Thank you!
First off, don't stress. The check in is to make sure you have a plan for your story and to make sure everyone is still on board. I said somewhere that I wanted your story about 1/3 done with an outline for the rest, including the ending. If you're aiming for the 5000 word mark, 1/3 is just over 1650 words, but as long as you have a good outline you should be fine. Hope that helps!
